Portfolio

I’m a Bay Area native and graphic designer at San Francisco State University studying Visual Communications and a minor in Astronomy. My work has always been fixed on illustrations and color visuals as my strong suit, including character design and color theory in many of my pieces. Studying graphic design has equipped me with learning about typography and graphic layouts for websites and poster work, and to familiarize myself with film/video editing such as motion graphics. During my time as a graphic designer and artist, my work has been featured in club University projects, non-profit company work, and social media marketing posts. I look to one day work for an entertainment company or become a busy freelancer which includes illustration work as a graphic designer/illustrator. Nothing pleases me more than to make artwork for people who love my style and to follow my journey as an artist and graphic designer. It brings me joy to see my creations of art and design in others’ usage. When I am not working on class projects and doing astronomy homework, I enjoy running my Etsy shop which has cute 2D art I like to draw and make into merchandise. My hobby artwork consists of simple sticker designs and fanart drawings from my favorite films and tv shows.

Coachella Rebranding

For my design class in DES 525, I was asked to rebrand Coachella’s logo and marketing campaign. With a music festival that is so colorful and youthful, going down a path of vibrant, bright, and trippy design aspects was important for me. Choosing from a variety of different gradient maps, I felt a psychedelic color scheme fit Coachella with its youthful audience.

Joji’s Vinyl’s

For my three-part vinyl project, I went with the artist Joji, who is an alternative pop singer. My three favorite songs from him are “CANT GET OVER YOU”, “TEST DRIVE”, and “DANCING IN THE DARK”. These three songs have very different feelings, although they are all about love. Every album piece I did was based on their music video to that song. I incorporated in each piece a way of travel, one with shoes, one with a car, and one with rollerblades.

Shine Like a Diamond

In this project for my DES 628 class we had to turn words into animated short videos. My phrase that I chose was from Rihanna’s “Shine Bright like a Diamond” song, using the three main words SHINE, BRIGHT, & DIAMOND. I used After Effects to animate each gif. This project was one of my favorites to complete since I learned more about motion graphics and what graphic design can look like with motion.
