Exceptional design solutions that allow people to live more fluidly is what I enjoy seeking. Each opportunity has helped me to understand the values of communication, compassion, organization, and finesse. I look forward to many more such opportunities to come!

VANISHING SHELF

THIS VANISHING SHELF REIMAGINES THE ICONIC SHELF DESIGN OF DES305. AS THE ORIGINAL SHELF PROTRUDES FROM THE WALL 6 INCHES, THE REDESIGN UTILIZES A FOLD AWAY APPROACH, PROVIDING THE SAME AMOUNT OF SURFACE AREA, BUT ONLY WHEN YOU NEED IT. THERE WAS A STRONG EMPHASIS ON THE INSTALLATION PROCESS OF THE SHELF, AS MOST RESIDENTS ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH SHEETROCK WORK. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE REDESIGN EMULATED THE MECHANICAL FEATURES IN A STANDARD ELECTRICAL CUT-IN BOX.

BITEMAKER 6000

THE BITEMAKER 6000 FOCUSED ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SINGLE HANDED EATING UTENSIL FOR USERS WHO ARE LACKING THE USE OF A SECOND HAND. THE PROJECT PARAMETERS RESTRICTED THE PRODUCT MATERIAL TO PETG THERMOFORMED PLASTIC. THE FINAL DESIGN USES TWO SEPARATE PIECES THAT CLIP TOGETHER TO FORM AN ELONGATED SPOON WITH A U-SHAPED BLADE THAT CUTS OFF A BITE WHILE HOLDING IT IN PLACE ON THE SPOON. THE BLADE SNAPS INTO PLACE AGAINST THE SPOON SURFACE TO PREVENT INJURY TO THE USER.

MEASURE MARKER

The objective of the Measure Marker was to create a simple piece of swag that emulated the design aesthetics of an existing product line. I went with the M12 line from Milwaukee Tools and a line marking device that clips onto their magnetic tape measures.
