For me, design is about storytelling. My name is Max DeNembo, and I’m a Visual Communications student at San Francisco State University. Print, layout design, logo construction, motion graphics, and character design, are my main focus, but I also have experience in UI/UX, app, website and basic game design. I often explore ideas of nostalgia, identity, and storytelling in my work. Through my design work, I hope to bring attention to the stories of the LGBTQ+ community. By working closely with queer communities in the design they interact with daily, I hope to create a more inclusive world.

5 Second Motion Graphics

Motion graphics are used to tell a story beyond static type. This DES628 project focuses on animating a series of 5 words to help expand upon the meaning behind them. Cohesion across all 5 words were essential. For my five words, I chose the phrase “just two boys in love” to animate.

Golden Gate Park Event Poster

The Golden Gate event poster aims to develop and apply an organized information system for displaying event information. Taking inspiration from the park itself, a unique visual concept was created.

My Cup of Tea Rebranding Project

This project set out to rebrand a local SF boba shop: My Cup of Tea. Taking inspiration from my own personal experience at the shop, design that captured the fun, friendly, and tasty nature of the shop.
