Hi! My name is Emma Loveless and I am a student designer studying Visual Communication Design at San Francisco State University. I am currently employed as a UX Designer for the SFSU ITS Department. I enjoy illustrative, packaging, and marketing design, photography, drawing, painting, and more! When I am not studying or working, I tend to be admiring any form of nature, listening to music, or finding another method of creative expression. I’m constantly reassured I am in the right field because I feel genuinely happy and inspired anytime I recognize a beautiful and functional design. Whether it be a genius product idea, sustainable packaging, a thought provoking painting or illustration, or anything similar.

TAZO Tea Box Redesign

The tea box series I have created reimagines the TAZO tea box to include hand painted watercolor designs. One point of inspiration for my design choices was that I especially wanted the look and feel of the tea flavors to come through by simply looking at the packaging while simultaneously creating something that will attract and catch the customers eye. This was accomplished by showcasing painted visuals of the included ingredients and colors relating to them on the package, as well as including a pattern that flows from one box to the next when lined up in the correct order. Another aspect that keeps the design flowing is the use of the graphic elements wrapping around the edges of the box.

Album Cover Design

This project was based around listening to a song of our choice and creating an album cover for it based off of the colors, shapes, patterns and anything else we felt or saw while listening to the song. I chose the song Ground by Wallows. One of the main graphic elements included in the design was created based off of the sheet music translation of one of the most notable guitar sections within the song.

Asian Pearl Rebrand

This project is based around creating a new brand image and visual identity for a small business of our choice. For this rebranding, I created a new logo along with established a primary and secondary universal typeface and a color scheme across the location’s identity as a whole. My goal was to create a simple yet eye catching and recognizable logo in order to strengthen and help create a new brand identity for the Asian Pearl.
